1. Data Controller
The party responsible for processing your personal data within the Al-Qaryatayn Emergency Response & Equipping (AQ-ERE) project is Manzoul e.V., based in Berlin, Germany, in cooperation with Al-Taawon Organization in Syria. For any privacy-related inquiry, please contact us via the email address provided in the final section of this policy.
2. Data We Collect
We are an informational website for a non-profit organization and do not require you to create an account. We collect personal data only when you voluntarily submit it to us through the contact form, namely:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Message subject and content
By submitting the form, you give your explicit consent to process this data for the purpose of responding to your message. Our servers may also record limited technical data (such as IP address and access logs) for security and site-operation purposes.
3. Purpose & Legal Basis
We use your data only to respond to your inquiries and to communicate with you about the project. The legal basis for processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Data Retention
We retain contact-form messages for as long as necessary to respond to and follow up on your request, and for no longer than twelve months after the correspondence is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Technical logs are deleted periodically within short retention windows.
5. Sharing Data with Third Parties
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your data may be shared internally between the two implementing partners — Manzoul e.V. and Al-Taawon Organization — only where necessary to respond to your message. Your data is not shared with the funder (GIZ Hospital Partnership Programme) for marketing purposes. We may rely on technical service providers (such as hosting) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict processing, and withdraw your consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below, and we will respond within the timeframes set by law.
7. Cookies & Analytics
This website uses only strictly necessary technical cookies to remember your preferences (such as language and light/dark mode) and to operate the site correctly. These cookies do not track you across other sites. We do not currently use advertising trackers and do not share your data with ad networks. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
