Abu Mahmoud — a 3 a.m. heart attack

Abu Mahmoud, a farmer from Al-Qaryatayn, woke at 3 a.m. with crushing chest pain. Twenty-five minutes later he was on a resuscitation bed at Al-Qaryatayn Hospital receiving the first dose of thrombolytic therapy. A year ago, this was not possible in the district.
